Today you'll be getting to know TWHS graduate and former lacrosse goaltender, tennis and football player, Michael Avery. He came out after college and there isn't a former player I respect more and include more admiration for than Michael. Why? Because he was an excellent goaltender? He was but that's not why.

Previous to asking Michael to collaborate with me on this article, I went out and asked about 20 people how they reflect a story about a gay bloke and his track would be received. % of those people said they thought it was something people demand to read.

I couldn't agree more. The main reason I initiated this is because there are more than likely many kids walking the halls of our schools struggling with their sexuality and I knew Michael could aid them.
