Yellow Cab releases unused statement following homosexual couple's compaint
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Yellow Cab is pulling a U-turn after an ABC 13 story went viral.
Monday late hours, we told you about a queer couple who says their cab driver kicked them out of his taxi for kissing. The couple claims the cab driver told them he doesn't give gay people rides and that they're going to hell because they are gay.
From Novel York to San Francisco, people across the country are talking about the story.
And, Yellow Cab's initial response to our questions raised plenty of eyebrows:
"Yellow cab immediately investigated this allegation of discrimination, including talking to the independent contractor driver. The driver stated that he would possess taken the matching actions if it was a bloke and a gal in the taxicab. Evidently, the driver was overly sensitive to passengers kissing. Yellow cab does not have a policy about passengers showing affection in taxicabs. In truth, we encourage kissing in our taxicabs."

A yellow taxi cab passenger says his driver told him during a trip, "I don't drive gays," the second time in a week that a cab rider in New York Municipality has reported being insulted or kicked out of a cab by a homophobic driver.
Ryan Smith said he and a partner hailed a cab from East 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue in midtown to head to Brooklyn, and while they were still en route in Manhattan, the driver turned around.
He "interrupted our conversation and was like, 'Are you gay?'" recalled Smith.
"We were like, 'Uh?' But before we could question again, he was fond of, 'Are you a queer man?'" said Smith.
"'Yes, I am,'" Smith replied. "He was like, 'I don't drive gays. So I was shocked."

Cab Driver Gets Off Light After Refusing Gay Customer
A yellow cab driver is back on the route after being slapped on the wrist with a day suspension and a modest fine for refusing to drive a same-sex attracted customer in Midtown Manhattan earlier this year.
In the early morning hours of June 13, Martin Morrison asked a passenger if he was homosexual, and when the human said yes, Morrison refused him service and kicked him out of the car, according to the New York Post. For that violation of both city and state nondiscrimination laws, Morrison paid a $1, fine in addition to his light suspension.
The city&#;s Taxi and Limousine Commission, which levied the fine against Morrison, could not be reached for comment regarding the punishment, but the Post reported that the TLC made a factual finding backing up the passenger&#;s account, which Morrison denied.

Gay couple says they were kicked out of cab for kissing
HOUSTON (WPVI) -- A same-sex couple in Texas claims they were kicked out of a cab for kissing.
Travis Player and his partner, Andres Orozco, say a Yellow Cab driver kicked them out of his cab after the two started kissing in the back seat.
"We gave each other a kiss and he told us to get out of the car," Player said. "We thought he was joking until he actually pulled over."
"The man just turns back to us and tells us that he doesn't give gay people rides," Orozco said. "And he proceeds to tell us we're going to hell for creature gay."
The two were let out several blocks from their place and were forced to step the rest of the distance.
"The sad reality is that it is completely legal," said Noel Freeman, an LGBT community advocate in Texas.
Freeman said in the last six months he's heard 4 other similar stories: lgbtq+ couples getting kicked out of Yellow Cab taxis for existence affectionate.
