The Pride LGBTQ+ Society Parade is one of the undisputed highlights of the Brighton & Hove Pride weekend and is a glorious showcase of the city’s charities, group groups and miniature businesses as good as our invaluable emergency services, the NHS and statutory partners.

It is one of the biggest and brightest events in Brighton & Hove’s events calendar, with over , people thronging the city’s streets to participate in and watch the procession of community and campaign groups, and the all-singing, all-dancing carnival of colour as it wends its way from Hove Lawns to Preston Park for Pride on the Park supported by Hayu, the official Brighton & Hove Pride charity fundraiser.

We are committed to ensuring that the Pride LGBTQ+ Group Parade retains its community focus and guarantee that at least 2/3 of entrants will be charities, community groups and local Queer businesses.

In keeping with the parade standards we introduced in , any businesses in the pride should be competent to show evidence of having pro-LGBTQ+ policies and back the LGBTQ+ collective year round. A

Brighton and Hove has the highest proportion of people identifying as bisexual, pansexual, asexual and non-binary in England and Wales, modern census data shows.

The facts on sexual orientation, from the census, shows that Brighton and Hove had the largest LGB+ population among those aged 16 years and over, with per cent of those who answered the ask claiming a non-straight identity.

The city also had the largest percentage nationally of people identifying as multi-attracted ( percent), pansexual ( percent), asexual ( percent) and queer ( percent).

From the results on gender identity, Brighton and Hove had the highest percentage ( percent) of people who identified as non-binary.
