Nickelodeon presents interracial gay couple on “The Loud House”

Nickelodeon aired an episode of “The Raucous House” on July 20 featuring an interracial gay couple. This children’s cartoon is about Lincoln, a kid who is growing up with 10 sisters.

The episode, entitled “Overnight Success,” depicts Lincoln inviting his buddy Clyde McBride over for a sleepover. When Clyde arrives at his friend’s house, Lincoln opens the door and sees Clyde’s two interracial fathers.

The couple was portrayed as loving and overprotective parents, who are worried about letting their son doze over at a friend’s house. The couple was shown with no signs of discrimination for their sexuality.

Many social media videos and posts have been sharing their help to Nickelodeon for representing the LGBTQ community.

“Families have a right to be represented in the media and for children to notice themselves represented. It’s important for them to be competent to say ‘hey that family is like my two daddys,’” said Guillermina (Gina) Nuñez-Mchiri, interim director of the Women and Gender Studies Program at UTEP.

Lesbian Relationship in Nickelodeon Kid’s Show: The Loud House

Children’s cartoon The Loud House aired an episode on Rally 5th titled “Racing Hearts” which focused on the homosexual relationship between main nature Luna, a member of the titular “Loud” family and romantic interest Sam on their first date. Sam was introduced in Season 2 episode “L is for Love” when Luna gives her a love note confession, revealing Luna to be bisexual.

In Racing Hearts, Luna is very excited to go on the meeting, which is participating in a town-wide scavenger hunt match. However, things quickly leave wrong as the activities the pair participates in begin to highlight how different Luna and Sam are. It is an excellent conflict focused not on their identity as a gay couple but on an issue that many new relationships run-in, finding common interests.

Luna and Sam’s relationship is treated as very normal in the episode. The plot could easily play out the same if it was a heterosexual pairing, it just so occur

Nickelodeon&#;s &#;Loud House&#; to Feature Married Gay Couple

Nickelodeon is about to transport down the house — the &#;Loud House,&#; that is.

The children&#;s TV network will introduce a bi-racial gay couple on the animated show &#;The Raucous House.&#; The series, which centers around the life of Lincoln Blaring and his ten sisters, will be the first Nickelodeon show in history to feature a married same-sex couple.

The couple in ask, voiced by Wayne Brady and Michael McDonald, will make their debut on the July 20 episode &#;Overnight Success.&#;

Nickelodeon confirmed to Variety that the couple is Clyde McBride&#;s parents, Harold (Brady) and Howard (McDonald) McBride. An expert from Wednesday&#;s upcoming episode was posted to Twitter.

As evident in the clip, the series makes no hoopla over the appearance of the married gay couple. Instead, it focuses on the protective nature of the McBride&#;s after dropping off Clyde at the Loud residence for a slumber party.

Alerting all parents! Nickelodeon Kid’s Network plans to feature a family with two dads in the animated show “The Loud House.” The series, which centers around the life of Lincoln Deafening and his ten sisters, will be the first Nickelodeon show in history to feature a married same-sex couple. The queer couple will make their debut on Wednesday, July 20, at p.m. ET/ p.m. CT during the episode “Overnight Success.” The married gay couple is revealed while dropping off their child Clyde at the Loud residence for a slumber party.

Unfortunately, children are now being exposed to same-sex marriage on a network that is designed for kids. Just because something may be legal or because some are choosing a lifestyle doesn’t make it morally correct.  Nickelodeon should stick to entertaining instead of pushing an agenda. Nickelodeon has decided to be politically correct instead of providing family-friendly programming.
