Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. It is located in the Andaman Sea, just off the southwest coast. The island is 48 km long, 21 km at its widest indicate and connected by a bridge to the mainland.

The best sandy beaches are on Phuket's west coast. Patong, Kata and Karon beaches are the most well-known but can get crowded during highlight season.
