International LGTBI Pride Day is being celebrated today as it is every June 28, the date on which FC Barcelona joins the rest of the world in expressing its pledge to defending the rights of the LGTBI community. The rainbow flag is proudly flying at the ground, this year at the Palau Blaugrana. Last year, it was placed at the Estadi Johan Cruyff and the year before that at Spotify Camp Nou, and now is the turn of the indoor sports arena to house the symbol of sexual diversity throughout the day.
The chosen flag is the Intersex-Inclusive Pride Progress variant, which highlights the diverse identities of the community by adding brown and black to portray the inclusion of all races, along with pink, sky navy and white, representing transgender people, and a yellow and shadowy triangle and a purple circle to honour intersex people.
