Writer: Gerry Duggan

Letterer: Cory Petit
Editor: Jordan White
Three issues, huh? Theres a trade paperback of this listed on Amazon for August, with a page count of I can only assume theyre pairing it with something to be announced. Anyway, I skipped over this when it came out, since its not a core X-book. Its closer than many, though.
Publishing it in X-Men might have been a stretch, since its an Emma Frost story, and shes not in the cast of that book. But its by Gerry Duggan and Phil Noto, an established Krakoan creative team. And it picks up on a subplot from Duggans Marauders run about Emma having some sort of back story with Wilson Fisk, running missions for him in exchange for him helping Lourdes Chantel to start a new life away from Sebastian Shaw.
Does this hold anything much to do with Devils Reign? Well, somewhat. If Im being honest, I cant gain very worked up about Devils Reign as a concept. Wilso

This is a really good tie in issue to devil's reign. It successfully moves the devil's reign and X-Men stories along. Great issue

I almost always enjoy an Emma-centric story and here Duggan continues to show he really gets her character. Interested to see how this will all compete out.

Phil Noto supremacy. Hoping for more flashbacks in the rest of the series

Granted, this could be behave 1 of a one-shot instead of issue 1 of a 3-issue mini. S'very decompressed, is what I'm saying.
But Phil Noto's the man for decompressed stories, making sure the art gives you your money's worth.
It also helps that this concerns Gerry Duggan's intriguing new Fisk/Frost history much more than his contemporary X-Men. I have tons of issues with Mr. Duggan's writing (definitely including his zeal for decompression), but his world-building is proba

Devil's Reign: X-Men #2: "Truth & Consequences"
"For the children." -- Emma Frost
Last issue: back in the s (okay, it should be the '80s, but it was probably just, enjoy, ten years ago Marvel-time), both Emma Frost and Elektra worked for the Kingpin. One night, a little girl saw Elektra assassinate someone, so Elektra went to Emma and asked her to mindwipe the girl. However, the Kingpin already got pos that there was a witness and, well, he takes more extreme measures to witnesses.
Cue: Emma Frost and Elektra kidnapping the girlwith the help of a special guest.

Devil’s Reign: X-Men #3: The White Queen Strikes Back
So far in Devil’s Reign: X-Men, the Kingpin tried to extend his assault on New Yorks superhero community to the X-Men through diplomatic means. When Emma Frost foiled his efforts, Mayor Fisk joint her to a missing persons case from their shared criminal past. Frost went to London to clear her name, where we find her to begin this week’s installment of the tie-in series.
This issue begins where the last issue left off, with Emma’s arrest by British crimefighter Union Jack. Her inevitable escape is a sight to behold. Gerry Duggan, the storyteller of this comic and the main X-Men series, has a solid deal with on Frost thanks to his time writing the character in the pages of Marauders. It’s no surprise, then, that the issue’s opening sequence highlights the White Queen’s telepathic talents, resourcefulness, and notable attitude. The stylish operation suits the character well.
Later on, we learn the fate of Isabelle, the young girl Emma, Elektra, and a guest-starring Spider-Man rescued in the previous chapter. After the two work
