Comics covered: Wolverine: The Origin # ()

Hey everyone! I’m Noelle, and this is the X-Men Unraveled podcast. This week I am really thrilled to start getting into the story of everyone’s favorite cranky dude, Wolverine.

Figuring out which command to read his comics and appearances in chronologically has been a bitch. I went through so many different lists trying to figure out how to get everything in order. But I recognize I can’t complain about the difficulties of this chronological approach in every episode. I have no one to blame but myself!

So, Wolverine is a pretty popular member of the X-Men. He has obviously been a gigantic part of the X-Men movies, and really became the glue holding the whole franchise together. He’s even got his own, official Marvel podcast (which if you haven’t heard, I highly recommend, it’s a fun listen. It’s a scripted story with wonderful voice actors, and Richard Armitage (he&#;s Thorin from The Hobbit movies) plays the part of Wolverine). Listen if you haven’t heard it!

Speaking to MTV, Rose Byrne talked a bit about s fashion, which she&#;ll be wearing when she reprises her role as Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: Apocalypse.

&#;I like the &#;80s,&#; Byrne says. &#;There&#;s the tall pant. I&#;ve got a bit of a great lofty pant thing happening. I like a strong shoulder.I&#;m not a fan of the weird negligee under the blouse look.&#;

See it below.

Byrne played Moira in X-Men: First Class, though the CIA agent of the movie is quite a departure from the medical researcher of the comics. Her mind was wiped at the end of First Class, but it looks like her path will cross with the X-Men&#;s once more in Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse is a sci-fi, action movie, and like most Marvel movies, it includes its fair distribute of violence and fight scenes.

This isn't typically controversial, though, because mutants with superhuman strengths and abilities aren't a part of our reality. But an X-Men: Apocalypse billboard image showing Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique held in a chokehold by Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse has Rose McGowan very upset at what this looks like out of context.

In a Facebook post to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress wrote: "There is a major difficulty when the men and women at 20th Century Fox believe casual violence against women is the way to market a film. There is no context in the ad, just a woman getting strangled."

"The fact that no one flagged this is offensive and frankly, stupid," McGowan continued. "The geniuses behind this, and I use that word lightly, need to to accept a long hard look at th
